Meet our current Representatives who bring you a look at what it means to be a student in Portland State University’s Master of International Management program!
President – Kantapong Tanachotevorapong
Kantapong (Rambo) Tanachotevorapong is a full-time student in the Master of International Management (MIM) program. Rambo received a Bachelor’s of Information and Communication Engineering from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Upon graduation, he worked at IBM Solution and Delivery Thailand for 6 months. In 2012, he moved to Seattle and obtained the International Marketing Certificate and International Business Professional Certificate from University of Washington. Thereafter, Rambo decided to enter the MIM program to broaden his perspective about the international business. After graduating from MIM, he wants to come back to Thailand and start his own company that combines his expertise in both information technology and international management.
President – Patrick Williams
Patrick Williams is a full-time student in the Master of International Management (MIM) program here at PSU. Patrick is from the Portland Metro area, but received his bachelor’s of arts in Linguistics at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. During his undergrad and after graduation, Patrick taught English as a Second Language, before moving back to Portland to study International Management at PSU. After graduation, Patrick would like to become a project manager in the tech industry, working on international projects.
Vice President of Academic Affairs – Thanyalak Aueteerasarun
Also known as Yok, is a full-time student in the Master of International Management (MIM) program. Prior to attending Portland State, she received a bachelor’s degree of Business Administration in Operation Management from Kasetsart University in Thailand. After graduating, She took part in a three-month work & travel program in Virginia Beach, VA in 2011. Then, she moved back to Thailand and worked as s supervisor in well-known freight forwarder company, Kuehne+ Nagel Inc for almost 2 years. Yok was interested in MIM program because she wanted to broaden her international business experience and study Chinese. She chose to specialize in Marketing because she has strong belief that marketing fits her personality and special skills. Moreover, Yok also loves to explore the world, try new things, and make new friends in order to gain more interesting experiences.
Vice President of Financial Affairs – Suresh Kumar
Suresh Kumar is a full-time student in the Master of International Management (MIM) program. Suresh earned his bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management and Management & Leadership, with a minor in Psychology at Portland State University (PSU). He loved PSU so much that he came back for his master’s degree here. Suresh is very passionate about sports and has won championships in Tennis, Badminton and Cricket. He also loves people and loves learning from diverse people, which is why he chose the MIM program.
Vice President of Event and Community Affairs – Ivan Jakobsson
Ivan Jakobsson is a full-time student in the Master of International Management program, specializing in international marketing. Prior to this program, Ivan achieved a double-major undergraduate degree in global marketing and advertising from Portland State University. He speaks Russian, English, and
Swedish fluently, he is intermediate in Spanish and French, and he is currently studying Chinese (Mandarin) in the MIM program. Ivan has significant experience in sales and management from his previous job in Sweden as a sales consultant manager. Ivan intends to integrate his language, international business, and cultural skills into innovative marketing and advertising strategies.
Vice President of Intercultural Outreach – Xiaoran Li
Xiaoran Li is a full-time student in the Master of International Management (MIM) program. He received a bachelor degree in Qingdao Agriculture University in China. After he graduated, he worked in an energy service company as a project manager in Tangshan City which is one of the biggest industrial cities in China. Two years later, he decided to study abroad in order to enhance his international business skills. He came to Portland and entered the MIM program at Portland State University in order to further his interest in doing business in the Asia-Pacific region. He is happy to be at PSU to take advantage of the great opportunities in China by developing his managerial skills in an American setting.
