Reflection of the Age of Pacific Seminar: Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN)

Linda Weston, the President and Executive Director of Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN), gave the lecture regarding the OEN organization help and support companies and people as well as create an opportunity to help them to be successful in their business.

Linda mentioned that there are many programs that OEN provide to society such as Startup Services, PubTalk, Portland Angel Network (PAN), Angel Oregon, OEN Tom Holce Entrepreneurship Awards Dinner, and CEO Roundtable. Personally, I am interested in Startup Services which is an educational program that give the knowledge about Business Concept Review, Business Plan Development, Private Business Plan Review, and Private Investor Presentation Review.

According to Business Concept Review, the OEN will give the information about the basic of new business idea which focuses on business concept, new idea to run or expand the business as well as the method or strategy to close gaps in any business model, which need to pay attention and work on before doing a business. For Business Plan Development, the OEN will give information about strategy to improve a business plan, how to make it strong, and what components that need to fill to business plan to makes it strong and possible to succeed. For Private Business Plan Review, OEN will help the prospective entrepreneurs review their business plan, point out the important issue, reduce weaknesses in the plan as well as give recommendations and solution to prospective entrepreneurs for creating a compelling plan. For Private Investor Presentation Review, the OEN will give an opportunity to the entrepreneurs to try their best in running business before they faces the real situation in the business world. The OEN will give a straightforward feedback but friendly to them in order to help they develop their business plan as much as possible.

Jaraswan Jarasjaruwan or Pear is a full-time MIM student. She got a Bachelor’s of Science from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. After she graduated, she worked as an educational consultant in Thailand for 2 years. Pear chose to study international business at Portland State University because she is interested in the business field and also the reputation of the university. Currently, Pear is studying Chinese as a third language. Also, she will choose Finance as her specialization in the Master of International Management program.
