Classes are in full swing for the new cohort of MIMers! Here’s a message from Rachel Foxhoven, the International Business Programs Coordinator here at PSU, along with some snapshots of the recent MIM camping trip!
“What could be better than having the opportunity to get to know your cohort before the stress of school starts, without a syllabus and group project between you, AND while camping? One of the highlights of the MIM program is the amazing opportunity to spend 4 days and 3 nights with your cohort and program staff members in beautiful central Oregon the weekend before orientation. This year, 38 of the 46 new students were able to participate in this program kick off. We stayed at Suttle Lake Camp just outside of Sisters, Oregon. And with the help of our knowledgeable Wanderlust guides, we spent 4 days team building, scavenger hunting, hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, and rafting our way around the surrounding area of Bend. While program staff members believe in the functionality of the team building that this experience enables, my impression was that students left believing strongly in the necessity of perfecting their water splashing techniques for the next time they raft down the Deschutes. Any way you look at it though, I think nearly everyone got what they came for. Many outdoor lovers got one last opportunity to commune with nature and new friends before the start of school and many of us found ourselves rock climbing and white water swimming for the first time in our lives.”
Stay tuned for more from the new cohort, and be sure to keep up with our Facebook page!
